The Sidonggou Valley means “a valley with four openings” and is 17 km away fromChishui with a new stone pathway running through the valley that takes one past four exceptionally beautiful waterfalls of varying heights. The valley is covered with green bamboo trees, plants, arbor trees and a large variety of ferns, most of which are the tree fern (spinulose tree fern). The surrounding area, crisscrossed by ancient tracks, is an excellent walking area for hikers, and provides a taste of village life. Farmers here live simply and naturally, far from modern society.

The Red Rock mass in Fengxihe river basin belongs to “red stratum” one, it has some features such as having stratified and big volume as will as that geological structure is simple, abruption is undeveloped, and rock strata are gentle, having dipangles below 10°. Danxia literally means red clouds in Chinese and refers to a specific topography found mainly in south China.Molded by crust movement and water, its belt of red rock has been pushed up and weathered into fantastic shapes over millions of years. Minerals including ferric oxide and manganic oxide give Danxia formations their striking red color.The force of nature has sculpted
formations along Chishui River into fascinating shapes:
some look like people, some like eagles, some like monkeys and turtles, and some even look like Buddha. The possibilities are many- often reflecting the viewer’s own imagination.

Chishui Waterfall Scenic spot is 37 km from Chishui, a beautiful valley throughwhich one can enjoy a multi stepped waterfall and a wide variety of ferns and some exotic plants unknown to most visitors. Nearby is 6000 hectares of primeval forest with rare animals and plants. The famous Shizhangdong Fall is situated on the Fengxihe River, a branch of the Chishui River in the southeast of Chishui County. 72 meters high and 68 meters wide, the water drops into a semi-circular pool with a deafening roar. Visitors can walk down to the river level and stand behind the roaring curtain of water to feel the power of the fall.

Zhijin Cave is 22 km to the east of the county seat of Zhijin and 151 km from Guiyang.It is a large, uniquely shped large karst cave. Based on the investigation and appraisal by experts from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources(now the Ministry of Land and Resources)and the Guangxi karst Research Institute, it is considered to be a scenic area with the most primitive, most complete landscape and the highest scientific and tourist value of karst cave discovered thus far in the world.

The ten thousand peak hills in Xingyi
takes up an area of 2,000 square kilometers, about two thirds the size of Xingyi City. It is ranked by the China Geography Magazine as one of the six most beautiful peak forests in China. As early as 300 million years ago, the area was part of an ancient sea. After several orogenic movements, bulging limestone rocks underwent the combined effect of burning sunshine, rain, dioxide and organic acids. It gradually formed marvellous sights, such as Karst caves, peak forest, natural craters and rift valleys.In the Ming Dynasty some 600 years ago, great Chinese traveler Xu Xiake was here. He was impressed by the landscape and wrote his famous poem which says: “There are numerous peaks on earth and the peaks here are the most beautiful.”

The Getu River National Park, A wall climber’s dreaming place, these is a great arch in the Getu river national park . One of the hardest climbing places in the world. Getu River Scenic Area is considered one of the most beautiful examples of karst topography in the entire world. Ge Tu River offers a wide variety of interesting things as it is located in a very mountainous area with lots of interesting karst formations. Inside the grotto you can see a red flag about 100 meters up on the side of the grotto wall. The wall is almost completely vertical. But it is possible for the local “spiderman” – a young man who are able to climb up very steep walls to climb up this wall the wave the flag.
And there is still more to see at Getu River, because you will notice that is yet another cave – a huge hole in the mountain called Chuanshang Cave. It is possible to climb 1900 steps to get up there. From the hole you can enjoy a view of the whole area. When you get to the cave you find a whole new world, like a lost paradise. There are green trees, mountains and you can hear the sound of a waterfall somewhere underneath the cave.

Most travelers know Langdeshang Village for its ethnic culture; however, the natural scenery in this part of the country alone is worth a trip. Langdeshang Village has become like a museum. They preserve a large number of old wooden Diaojiaolou buildings that are buildings on stilts. This is a traditional style of construction. These wooden buildings are generally held together by means of wooden joints. Planks and beams are held together without metal nails or bolts or glue.

It is the home of over 6000 Dong people with a history of nearly 2000 years. The village is built on mountain with two brooks passing its center. Along the brooks are rows of wooden houses, drum towers and roofed bridges, hence Zhao Xing is regarded as the biggest Dong Village in the world. The Dong people are said to have three treasures: the drum towers, the wind and rain bridges, and the Dong Grand Song. Though the western world knew little of the Dong ethnic song until recently, the beautiful ballad had already been spreading in China for thousands of years. The Dong people believe that “songs nourish the soul as food nourishes the body,” and since they didn’t have a written language until the 1950′s, songs have been an important means of handing down their stories and knowledge.
The Dong grand song, locally known as “galao”, is generally a narrative with themes ranging from love stories to episodes in history to lessons in morality. It is only by listening to the grand song that one can begin to understand the beauty of Dong culture. The men and women singing together in harmony captures the sense of unity in the village.
